Licensed image for Oxford American cover

Posted in The South by marktucker on June 1, 2012

I got an email from The Oxford American recently, looking for an image I’d made a year or so ago. A nice little moment with S.S. and Betty The Goat. I retouched it on a laptop, and got it delivered promptly. Nice and clean on the white; it worked well with the type treatment. One of the last images that I shot on film, before selling the Hasselblad. Editor: Marc Smirnoff; Art Director: Carol Ann Fitzgerald.

I’d done the image originally for Diana Stewart and Baby Bear, one morning in my apartment in East Nashville. Pretty window light. Jennifer Casale was kind enough to bring Betty, and she almost dozed off in S’s arms.

I remember first seeing this image..and just staring at it over and over and falling more in love with it. It’s beautiful. I may just have to search for a copy!

I just got this issue in the mail a few days back, and it’s a truly stunning photo, easily one of the best they’ve ever featured. Glad I found you here! Thanks for your great work.
