Surrealists: Do photographers/artists band together like this any more?
I stopped at the Frist Center today to see the Surrealists show, about Paris in the 20s and 30s. How has the climate changed since then? Do we ever see groups of artists working within one theme any longer?
You could set up a collaboration, I’m sure.
Even twenty years ago there was a great deal of mentoring, a way for established artists to gave a little back! Today, everyone wants to be on the seminar circuit, all feeding of each other, re-packaging ideas for sale to the newest members of our craft, the very people who can least afford it! Kind of a bernie madoff affair if you ask me……….
